Event Activities & Flow (Stations-based, so participants can move freely): Welcome & “The Masterpiece Wall” (Ongoing): As families arrive, they are directed to a large, blank canvas or paper wall. Everyone is encouraged to add a brushstroke, handprint, or small drawing throughout the event. By the end, it becomes a collaborative masterpiece that can be displayed in the community center. Station 1: Rock Pet Painting (30-45 mins): Children choose smooth, washed rocks and transform them into colorful “pets” or creatures using acrylic paints and googly eyes. Takeaway: Each child takes their unique rock pet home. Station 2: Nature Printmaking (30 mins): Using collected leaves, flowers, and ferns, kids paint the surfaces and press them onto paper or tote bags to create beautiful, natural prints. Learning Point: Introduces pattern, symmetry, and using natural objects as art tools. Station 3: Collaborative “Kindness Quilt” (Ongoing): A large sheet of paper is divided into squares. Each child decorates a square with markers, crayons, and stickers, drawing something that makes them happy or represents kindness. The squares are “stitched” together with tape on the back to form a large quilt that tells a community story. Station 4: DIY Wind Chimes (45 mins): Using recycled jars, tin cans, seashells, beads, and string, families work together to create their own musical wind chimes.
