Event 3 “Color Our Community” – A Family Craft & Paint Social Event Concept:

October 19, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
craft test2

A vibrant, social event where children and their families can unleash their creativity through various crafting and painting stations. The theme is community and nature, with collaborative art pieces to take home or display. Target Audience: Families with children of all ages. Activities are scalable for different skill levels. Key Objectives: To provide a fun, relaxed space for creative expression. To strengthen community bonds through collaborative art. To develop fine motor skills and artistic confidence in children. To create beautiful, personalized artwork for the home and community space. Event Activities & Flow (Stations-based, so participants can move freely): Welcome & “The Masterpiece Wall” (Ongoing): As families arrive, they are directed to a large, blank canvas or paper wall. Everyone is encouraged to add a brushstroke, handprint, or small drawing throughout the event. By the end, it becomes a collaborative masterpiece that can be displayed in the community center. Station 1: Rock Pet Painting (30-45 mins): Children choose smooth, washed rocks and transform them into colorful “pets” or creatures using acrylic paints and googly eyes. Takeaway: Each child takes their unique rock pet home. Station 2: Nature Printmaking (30 mins): Using collected leaves, flowers, and ferns, kids paint the surfaces and press them onto paper or tote bags to create beautiful, natural prints. Learning Point: Introduces pattern, symmetry, and using natural objects as art tools. Station 3: Collaborative “Kindness Quilt” (Ongoing): A large sheet of paper is divided into squares. Each child decorates a square with markers, crayons, and stickers, drawing something that makes them happy or represents kindness. The squares are “stitched” together with tape on the back to form a large quilt that tells a community story. Station 4: DIY Wind Chimes (45 mins): Using recycled jars, tin cans, seashells, beads, and string, families work together to create their own musical wind chimes. Takeaway: A functional and beautiful piece of art for their garden or balcony. Materials Needed: Large canvas or roll of paper for the collaborative wall Acrylic paints, brushes, water cups, palettes Smooth rocks, googly eyes, glue Collected leaves, ferns, flowers Plain paper, pre-washed cotton tote bags Recycled jars/cans, beads, string, shells Markers, crayons, stickers, aprons/smocks Tables, drop cloths, and drying racks
